Marlo Michael Elkshoulder
In Loving Memory...
Marlo Michael Elkshoulder of Seiling died on October 10, 2019 at the age of 20 years, 3 months, and 4 days. Marlo (Cheyenne: Má’ome “Ice”) was born to Michael Daniel Elkshoulder and Challis Rose Island on July 6, 1999 in Crow Agency, Montana. He grew up attending school in Seiling, and later Riverside Indian High School in Anadarko where he graduated with the Class of 2019.
Marlo loved football, whether cheering on OU or playing offensive lineman for his school. He enjoyed singing and spending time with his family. Marlo was also a member of the Native American Church and the Dog Soldier Society. He was very active in the Native American Church and took part in the Cheyenne Sundance, sweats, and pow-wows regularly.
Marlo was preceded in death by his father Michael Elkshoulder; grandparents, Cheryl Spears, Sylvia Elkshoulder,and Maurine Island; great grandparents Roy Bull Coming and Kathryn Bull Coming; and four uncles Vernon, George, Donald, and Tom Bull Coming.
He is survived by his mother, Challis Rose Island; Nine brothers and sisters, Chalicy Eagle Feathers, Jalyn Eagle Feathers, Maylee Elkshoulder, Maurine Elkshoulder, Mylene Elkshoulder, Donna Jean Elkshoulder, Chase Island, Kathryn Island, and Eli Williams; as well as many other relatives and friends.
A traditional Cheyenne Wake was held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Bull Coming Home (61030 N 2337 Rd., Seiling, OK 73663).
Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Restoration Church in Seiling. Burial followed at Cantonment Cemetery all under the direction of Redinger Funeral Home.
