Harold W. Finch


In Loving Memory...

Funeral Services for Harold W. Finch, 82 a long-time resident of Hereford were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Central Church of Christ, with Joey Myers, officiating. Interment followed at West Park Cemetery under the personal supervision of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Finch passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 in Hereford.

Harold Finch was born October 18, 1936, in Canadian County, Oklahoma, to Harold Woodrow “Mickey” Finch and June Finch. In 1956 while attending Geary City Schools, he was in FFA, the State Wrestling Champ, Star Defensive Fullback and Junior Master Farmer. Harold studied to be a mortician in, 1958 in Norman, Oklahoma before moving to Texas. Harold met and fell in love with Martha Sue Watson and married August 23, 1959. He went to work for Deaf Smith Electric Co-op on January 1, 1960. Harold was also a volunteer fireman from 1967 thru 1968, in 1980 was Advanced Line Operations, 1984 solo pilot ASA (Cessna 150 with John E. Smith as instructor, 1986 was a Master Mason. February 2000, Harold retired after 39 years with Deaf Smith Rural Electric Co-op as a journeyman lineman and Troubleshooter- Serviceman. He was an active member of Elks Lodge and Senior Citizens for many years. Harold enjoyed traveling, watching pro bull riding, fishing, playing cards on the computer, reading the Geary paper to keep up with old friends, Birthday get togethers, lunch with his friends at Senior Citizens, coffee with his buddies at McDonalds and Friday night dinners with family.

Harold is survived by two sons, Keith Finch and wife Debbie, Kent Finch and wife Suzanne, one brother Carroll Finch and wife Jenny, one sister Myrna Cusick and husband Bob, two grandsons Cayden Finch and wife Sandee, Kory Finch and fiancé Sarah Woodard, four great grandchildren Bentley, Paxton, Caroline, Attley Finch and his lifelong friend, Sue Nash.

Preceded in death by his parents, beloved Uncle Edd & Aunt Ina Mabry (Who raised him), his wife Martha of 54 years, one brother Bobby Finch and one grandson Harold Dean Finch.

The family suggests memorial in Mr. Finch’s name be made to Hereford Senior Citizens, 426 Ranger Dr. Hereford, Texas 79045.
