A few warning flags were thrown Feb. 7 at the regular session of the Geary City Council. All council members were present to hear the news from city accountant Linda Woodruff Borne. She told council the general fund had dropped while customer accounts receivables – money the residents owe the city – was up to more than the $200,000 mark. That figure, in turn, meant the income from the Geary Utilities Authority was also down, when it is usually very consistent, Borne said, month to month.
