“Dear Lord, today

“Dear Lord, today I turn to you to give you thanks for my mother. With your own gift of life, she bore me in her womb and gave me life. She tenderly, patiently cared for me and taught me to walk and talk. She read to me and made me laugh. No one delighted in my successes more; no one could comfort me better in my failures. I am so grateful for how she mothered me and mentored me, and even disciplined me.

Here are some lesser known or weird holidays for the month of January. The first one we are going to explore is The Feast of the Epiphany. When is the Feast of the Epiphany well January 6th if it falls on a Sunday, In the U.S. and most other countries, it is celebrated on the Sunday that falls between January 2-8th. Traditionalists celebrate it on the 6th. Casper, Melchior and Balthasar were the three kings from the Orient. They are also know as the Three Wise Men or the Three Magi. They were merchants who saw the star over Bethlehem when Christ was born. They followed the star, to find the Christ child lying in the manger on January 6th. They brought the Christ child gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. The word "Epiphany" comes from the Greek word "to reveal". This day is known as "Theophany" the revelation of God to man. The Feast of the Epiphany is also known to some as Three Kings Day, and Little Christmas. It Marks the end of Christmastide. In eastern Europe, it is as important as Christmas Day. Some people also refer to this day as "Saint Nicholas Day". However, the Feast of the Saint Nicholas is celebrated on December 6th. For many, the nativity sc4ene, with the manger and figurines of those at the stable on this day, are kept up through January 6th, and are the last decorations to be put away until nest Christmas. To some Christians, Little Christmas, is a time to exchange gifts. It often consists of candy, fruit, or small gifts.

I was sitting in my recliner, which is my usual modus operandi, when I decided I needed to make use of our private 'facilities' which meant passing by the kitchen. After I'd settled back down in my favorite spot in the living room, the following conversation ensued.

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a good week. My week got rather exciting on Wednesday when I got to take my first ride ever in the pretty, new Watonga ambulance. I had developed so server pain in my chest and after some time at the local ER they decided I had a artery trying to block off. So then I was off to see my heart doctor who took me to a surgeon who booked me for surgery.
