Proposed Laws Show how State will Regulate Medical Marijuana

IOklahoma voted June 26 to allow medical marijuana. The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority will be breathed into life July 10 during the state Board of Health’s meeting. Information and requirements for license applications in each category will be available by July 26, and according to the website, the agency will begin accepting applications no later than Aug. 26.

There is also a pre-recorded informational phone line at (405) 271-2266. The rules are considered a working draft at this point and comprise 61 pages of do’s and don’ts. Among those regulations are the prohibition of anyone less than 18 years of age, even though licensed for use of medical marijuana, from smoking or vaping the prescription.
