Gwendolyn Sells Crabb

Gwen was born April 25, 1937, to Homer and Lucy Sells and spent her youth in Geary, OK, where she developed her outgoing, cheerful soul. Drum major in the GHS band, civic and church activities groomed her into leadership roles that would carry her through life. While in high school she met her sweetheart, Jimmie Crabb, and they were married May 8, 1955. After Jim’s service in the USAF and college, the couple settled in the Dallas, TX, area where they began their careers, Jim as an electrical engineer and Gwen as a nurse. Jim’s career took their family to exotic places in the world but they always called Texas home, retiring in Pittsburg. Gwen was known to play a friendly, yet spirited game of dominoes with friends. She enjoyed fishing, loved pets, music, art, and enjoyed staying active. Her sculptures and paintings are as numerous as those fortunate to own them. Her devoted pets were spoiled rotten! She was greeted into her heavenly home on April 6, 2018, by her beloved Jim and son, Densile Crabb, along with her loving parents, extended family, and friends. Missing her on earth are her daughter, Carla Marshall of Mesquite, TX, brothers Grady Sells and wife Betty of Richardson, TX, Noel Sells and wife Claudia of Rutledge, GA, grandsons Cameron Dickey and wife Deadra of Gardendale, TX, Callahan Dickey and wife Sterling of Crowley, TX, great-granddaughter, Leddi Dickey of Gardendale, TX, and extended family and friends. Gwen’s memorial service will be Friday, May 4, 10:00 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, Pittsburg, TX, interment will follow at 2:30 p.m., at DFW National Cemetery. Please honor her with Charitable Gifts to either of these organizations that she supported:United Methodist Women (First United Methodist Church of Pittsburg, TX) or American Legion Auxiliary (Medical Scholarship Fund)
