Devon Energy Makes Large Donation to Geary’s Volunteer Fire Department

Local fire and sheriff’s departments were invited to Devon Energy’s emergency responder luncheon on Tuesday. The company gave each attending agency a $2,000 grant and discussed techniques to keep them safe in the oil fields. “Our volunteer fire department relies on the generosity of donors like Devon,” said Geary Fire Chief Jeff Choate. “This grant will help us buy much-needed supplies and equipment to keep our community safe

.” Tangi Smith, community relations specialist at Devon, said the company’s giving program in western Oklahoma focuses on supporting public safety, community development and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education.
