Geary Bison Football Opens 2016 With A Win

By Chad Waters

The Geary Bison rushed their way to an opening night win against the Canton Tigers on Thursday, September 1st. The Bison tallied just under 300 yards on the evening, finishing at 9.6 yards per carry. The Bison mercy ruled the Tigers 54-6 with 6:43 left in the third quarter. “I’m really pleased with everything we did,” Coach Steven Wilson said. “We did a lot of different things offensively with our second group, which has been a big thing we’ve focused on. I don’t want to go out there and just put people away because I want everyone to be working on the same thing as a goal.” Geary had five players score a rushing touchdown with senior Dalton Cash scoring a team-high two rushing touchdowns, and sophomore quarterback Ryan Gilbert leading the way in yards with eight carries for 86 yards and a touchdown.
