The Canton Lakefront

While recreating in rural western Oklahoma, it is not uncommon to see a cottontail rabbit munching on a dandelion, a red-naped sapsucker woodpecker making a home from a cottonwood tree, or a white tailed deer frolicking through a field with its young. Another critter that used to be a common site seen scurrying through the grass eating its fill of ants is the short horned lizard or most commonly known as the “horny toad”.
